McLaren F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo is one of the most popular drivers on the grid. The Italian American was born on the first of July 1989 in Perth, Western Australia. He currently competes in the 2022 FIA Formula One World Drivers Championship driving for The McLaren Formula One team. Ricciardo has 8 Grand Prix victories in Formula One and has a net worth of $50 million. Daniel Ricciardo was born to Italian-Australian parents. While his father was born in Ficarra, Messina, and relocated to Australia at a very young age, his mother was born in Australia to parents who originally hail from Casignana, Calabria. In Ricciardo’s early life he enjoyed watching his father race at the Barbagallo Raceway in Wanneroo.

9 Earns: Racing Contracts and Wins

Ricciardo’s career kicked off when he was just 9 years old. He started out as a member of the Tiger Kart Club and competed in various karting rallies. With a 15-year-old Van Diemen, Daniel entered the Formula Ford championship in 2005 in which he finished 8th. He also raced in the national Formula Ford rally at Sandown Raceway where he finished 16th and 17th respectively before retiring. He proceeded to race for Carlin Motorsport in the British Formula 3 Championship for the 2009 season. His contract with Carlin Motorsport didn’t end there as he raced in the Macau Grand Prix with the Carlin team.

Later in 2009, Daniel Ricciardo signed a deal with Tech 1 that would see him race for the team in the upcoming 2010 season in Spain.

In 2011, Daniel Ricciardo moved to Hispania Racing on a loan deal that saw him make his Grand Prix debut when he raced at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. Scuderia Toro Rosso announced that he would be their driver in the 2012 season. The Toro Rosso contract was renewed for the 2013 season and his impressive performance in 2013 compared to that of his teammate, earned him a spot in the senior team Red Bull where he raced from 2014 to 2018.

In August 2018, Renault announced that Daniel Ricciardo would be their driver for the 2019 and 2020 seasons with an enticing pay per annum. After a not-so-impressive run at Renault, he secured a $15 million/year contract to race for McLaren in the 2021 Formula One World Championship where he performed realty at the Bahrain Grand Prix, Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, the Portuguese Grand Prix, and the Spanish Grand Prix among others. He ended the championship with an 8th place finish and one podium win.

Apparently, Daniel is a lover of real estate investments. He owns gigantic properties including a $13 million mansion in Beverly Hills, a luxury apartment in Monte Carlo, and a grand luxury home in his hometown of Perth.

Ricciardo also raked in a lot of earnings with various endorsement contracts which has seen him bag a lot of sponsorship deals with Go Pro, Blue Coast, and Puma among others. Per year, he makes over $2 million in endorsement deals.

6 Spends: Luxury Supercars

Aside from his real estate investments, the honeybadger also fancies luxury cars. His garage boasts of a collection of cars including a Porsche 918 Spyder, a Renault Megane RS, an Aston Martin Valkyrie, and a McLaren 675LT among others.

Exploring his impressive taste in fine wine, the F1 superstar partnered with one of Australia’s biggest winemakers, St. Hugo to produce his own DR3 X St. Hugo fine wine series. Which he sells at pretty impressive prices and makes a satisfying amount of profits from.

Daniel also puts a fair amount of his money to good use in charitable exercises, the most notable of them being the auction off one of his luxury supercars, the proceeds of which he donated to charity.
