Aston Martin have become the first Formula 1 team to announce the launch date for their new car for the 2023 season.
The team will present the AMR23 on February 13th at the new facility it is building at its Silverstone base. The presentation will also be broadcast online.
Pre-season testing is due to begin at the Bahrain International Circuit 10 days after Aston Martin’s launch.
The AMR23 will be Aston Martin’s first car designed largely under the team’s head of aerodynamics Dan Fallows, who arrived from Red Bull in April this year. It will be driven by Lance Stroll and new team mate Fernando Alonso, who had his first test with the team in Abu Dhabi last month.
Aston Martin are spending up to £200 million building a new factory spread across three buildings. However it will not be fully complete until 2024, and the team says its AMR25 is likely to be the first car designed using its new wind tunnel.
They were the first team to present a genuine car ahead of the 2022 season. Haas issued images of their car and Red Bull presented a show car painted in their new livery.
However Aston Martin soon produced a substantially revised version of the AMR22, which appeared at the sixth round of the season in Spain three months after its launch.
