Lawrence Stroll acquired a major stake in the Aston Martin brand in 2020 and rebranded the Racing Point team in F1 the next year. The Aston Martin brand returned to F1 after 6 decades of absence under Stroll’s leadership.

Though Stroll has also expressed a desire to enter the top class of endurance racing at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Currently, Aston Martin competes in the GT3 and GT4 classes at Le Mans which are also known as prototype classes.
In an interview with Top Gear, in 2022, Stroll, worth $2.9 billion, stated how he wished to enter the Hyperclass or any other top category at Le Mans. He said, “I’m a racer. I have been all my life. Racing is in my blood and that’s why I’m here.”

“I think we should be racing – as we are with GT3 and GT4 – in whatever category aligns with the message we are trying to deliver with Aston Martin. That messaging is ultra-luxury as it always has been, and now I’m bringing the high-performance technology to marry with that.”
The most likely candidate for an Aston Martin Hyperclass car would be their beast-like car model – the Valkyrie.

Lawrence Stroll and his ambitions for Aston Martin F1
Stroll had kept a target for the Aston Martin team that they shall be fighting for world championships in the next 5 years. Now, the initial 2 years really have not gone to that plan. Though his investments to revamp the structure of the team, the infrastructure and car development is surely a sign of commitment to accomplishing the planned target.

One of the key hirings Aston Martin has done is by onboarding Dan Fallows from Red Bull. Fallows was the head of aerodynamics at Milton Keynes. He joined the green team at Silverstone in 2022 as the Technical Director and will be showing his influence in the AMR23 – Aston Martin’s car next year.
Fallows also addressed that the 2025 car will be the first one to partially benefit from the new wind tunnel. As part of the ongoing infrastructure project at the Aston Martin base, the wind tunnel will be ready to use by mid-2024. While the factory will be ready for use by the middle of next year.

Lawrence Stroll has invested extensively in this upgrade of facilities at the team’s base. He hopes to reap the rewards by making Aston Martin a championship-winning outfit in the next few years.
